Band

Students interested in playing musical instruments are encouraged to join our school band program.  Starting in third grade, students may learn to play the recorder as an introduction to reading music.  Fourth graders may join the beginning level band, where they can choose to learn a brass, wind, or percussion instrument that they will play throughout their school years.

As the musicians gain in proficiency with their instruments, they may progress to the advanced level band.  There are two performances during the year, as well as the opportunity to participate in the Christmas program.

Students meet with the instructor weekly during normal school hours. The band program is taught by the Music on the Move company, and involves an additional fee.
