Preschool “Believes in the Magic of Christmas”. Every preschooler planted a magic peppermint seed today in hopes of it growing into a full size candy cane by whispering to the seed that they believe in the magic of the season!
Uploaded Dec 07, 2017 by Julie FeelyThere is some amazing science involving Diet Coke and Mentos chewy mints! The soda pop is made of sugar or artificial sweetener, flavoring, water, and preservatives. The thing that makes soda bubbly is invisible carbon dioxide gas, the same substance we exhale when breathing. Just like when you shake a can of soda, some of the gas comes out of the solution and the bubbles cling to the tiny pits in the walls of the container called nucleation sites. When you open the shaken can, the bubbles quickly rise to the top pushing the soda and it sprays everywhere! The surface of the Mentos candy is covered with thousands of nucleation sites that collect the carbon dioxide bubbles. As soon as the Mentos hit the soda, bubbles form all over the surfaces of the candies and then quickly rise to the surface. The gas released by the Mentos literally pushes all of soda up and out of the bottle in an incredible soda blast. Ours exploded all over the small playground!

B-R-O-W-N, B-R-O-W-N, B-R-O-W-N
And that's how you spell BROWN!
We ended our week with a dance party to one of our favorite songs! Have a great weekend everyone!
Uploaded Nov 10, 2017 by Julie FeelyWith the help of our very own Spookley, the pumpkin (who came from our Preschool Pumpkin Patch), we did a very cool science experiment. We made Elephant Toothpaste inside our pumpkin. Using yeast as a catalyst to release the oxygen molecules from a hydrogen peroxide solution, the oxygen-filled bubbles in the foam are created when the hydrogen peroxide breaks down into water (H2O) and oxygen (O2).
